No. In the 2025-26 format, the Plate Group plays for promotion and its own trophy. They do not compete for the main Vijay Hazare Trophy title against Elite teams.
Both teams receive 2 Points each. There are no reserve days for league stage matches.
With only 7 matches per team in the group stage, one loss can be costly. A healthy NRR acts as a safety net, allowing a team to qualify even if they are tied on points with another team.
